Things that stand out from Pontianak surely is the Equator Monument. But, do you know there are actually many places that become recommendations in Pontianak? One of the landmarks Islami in Pontianak is a Masjid Raya Mujahiddin. Mujahideen name chosen for the foundation and the mosque were initiated, proposed by Achmad Mawardi Djafar, with the idea of perpetuating the struggle of Muslims in the arena of collective presents the independence of Indonesia, especially in West Borneo. According to the article that I read Masjid Raya Mujahidin accommodate up to 9 thousand pilgrims. The mosque has a nice calligraphy and design inspired by Masjid Nabawi in Madinah.
